Construction Partners, Inc.’s management team is one of the most successful in the road construction industry. Prior to launching CPI in 2001, they built Superfos Construction U.S., Inc. into the 5th largest asphalt paving company in the country.
After Ashland Oil purchased Superfos through its subsidiary APAC in November of 1999, key members of the Superfos management team joined together again to form CPI. With the acquisition of C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc., they established a platform company in Florida and expanded into Alabama in 2002 with the acquisition of their second platform company, Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc. In 2011, CPI established platform companies in Georgia and North Carolina with Everett Dykes Grassing Co., Inc. and the Fred Smith Company respectively. The platform companies continue to acquire and integrate more companies into the CPI family.

Charles E. Owens
President & CEO
Charles E. Owens brings more than 35 years of experience in the road construction industry to the CPI team. As the former President and CEO of both Couch Construction and Superfos Construction, he played an integral role in the identification, acquisition and integration of more than 32 companies. Charles has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Troy University and is active in various trade and industry associations.
Alan Palmer
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
As Vice President and CFO, Alan Palmer is responsible for financial reporting, corporate tax returns, banking, bonding and insurance relationships, and budget preparation for the company. He is also actively involved in the acquisition process. A Certified Public Accountant since 1975, he served as the former Vice President of Finance and CFO for Couch Construction and Superfos Construction before joining the CPI team. Alan earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Auburn University and is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
John A. Walker
Vice President of Business Development
As the Vice President of Business Development, John’s responsibility is to grow the company by locating new businesses and assisting in their acquisition. John has been involved in the road construction industry for more than 30 years and is the former President of Couch Construction’s Alabama Division. Prior to joining Construction Partners, Inc., John was regional president of APAC responsible for the states of Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. John is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama, Georgia and Florida and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Auburn University.
Tommy Crenshaw
Chief Information Officer
As the Chief Information Officer for CPI, Tommy Crenshaw, with over 25 years of information technology experience, oversees the IT operations for the corporation and its platform companies. Formerly the Information Technology Manager for Superfos Construction, Tommy is responsible for CPI information technology integration. He attended Auburn University and has an Associates Degree from MacArthur State College in addition to numerous certifications with Oracle, IBM and Microsoft.
Todd K. Andrews
Corporate Controller
Todd Andrews joined CPI with 23 years of experience in accounting and finance. As the corporate controller, he oversees the preparation of financial statements and provides accounting support for CPI and its platform companies. He also is involved in the budgeting and the strategic planning process. Todd is a Certified Public Accountant and holds two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Accounting and one in Computer Information Systems from Troy University. He is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
Bo Cheshire
Risk Manager
As Risk Manager, Bo acts as a direct liaison with the corporate insurers and broker. He assists the platform companies in the areas of operational exposures, safety policy, training, loss control measures, claim monitoring, mediation, and regulatory compliance. Bo joined CPI after working as an estimator for Wiregrass Construction. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University and a Master of Science degree from Troy University.
