Ft. Myers Plant
In 2001, Charles Owens, an asphalt paving industry veteran teamed with SunTx Capital Partners, L.P., its lead investor, to execute an acquisition growth strategy in the road construction and hot mix asphalt industry. The company has grown significantly by executing its strategic growth plan and by acquiring 11 companies and establishing five Greenfield operations.
In November of 2001, Construction Partners, Inc. completed the acquisition of C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc., a Tallahassee, Florida-based company founded in 1976. Since that time, C.W. Roberts has acquired three more Florida-based companies and established one new greenfield operation.
In December of 2002, Construction Partners, Inc. acquired Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc. based in Dothan, Alabama. Wiregrass Construction has gone on to acquire four more Alabama-based companies and establish one greenfield operation.

Services
The scope of our work includes everything from municipal roadways to complex highway projects. We provide site development, paving, utility and drainage systems, and hot mix asphalt supply. We work on both privately funded and publicly funded road construction projects and can take on a job of any size.
Before we ever add a new company to the CPI family, we make sure they fit our standards. We look for companies with strong management teams and strong market positions and combine them with our years of experience in the road construction industry. CPI and its platform management teams work together to improve operational performance by streamlining the areas of banking, bonding, insurance and information technology.
